A prayer of rejoicing looks to God and says, “Lord, you are awesome.”  Unlike a prayer of thanksgiving, however, prayers of rejoicing aren’t based on what the Lord has done for us personally, but rather in simply who God is.
Each morning, say this prayer as a way of focusing our hearts and minds on the wonder of who God is.

Rejoicing Prayer

God who made the Heavens and the Earth,

this morning I rejoice in your greatness.
You set the stars in place.

You divided the world so that all creatures would have a space to live.

You created humanity to bear your image and enjoy your love.

You loved the world so much that you joined yourself to humanity so we could be saved.
As this day dawns, keep my eyes on the wonder of who you are.

That the joy of your salvation might be seen in me.
Amen.
