Call to Worship - Psalm 23
Hymn of Praise: “Better Is One Day”
Verse 1
How lovely is Your dwelling place
O Lord almighty
For my soul longs and even faints for You
For here my heart is satisfied
Within Your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings
Chorus
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere
(Than thousands elsewhere)
Verse 2
One thing I ask and I would seek
To see Your beauty
To find You in the place
Your glory dwells
(REPEAT)
Bridge
My heart and flesh cry out
For You the living God
Your Spirit's water to my soul
I've tasted and I've seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You to You
Bridge
Better is one day better is one day
Better is one day than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day better is one day
Better is one day than thousands elsewhere

Hymn of Invitation: “Sometimes by Step”
Verse 1
Sometimes the night is beautiful
Sometimes the sky was so far away
Sometimes it seemed to stoop
So close you could touch it
But your heart would break
Sometimes the morning came too soon
Sometimes the day could be so hard
There was so much work left to do
But so much you'd already done
Chorus
Oh God You are my God
And I will ever praise You
Oh God You are my God
And I will ever praise You
And I will seek You in the morning
And I will learn to walk in Your ways
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days
Verse 2
Sometimes I think of Abraham
How one star he saw had been lit for me (him)
He was a stranger in this land
And I am that no less than he
And on this (the) road to righteousness
Sometimes the climb can be so steep
I may falter in my steps
And never beyond Your reach
Ending
And I will follow You all of my days
And I will follow You all of my days
And step by step You'll lead me
And I will follow You all of my days

Benediction
March Benevolence - America for Christ
FOR THE PURPOSE OF EQUIPPING SAINTS
“Thanks to America for Christ (AFC) Offering contributions, American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) supported communities distressed by the devastation of COVID-19 last year, as the pandemic swept our country and Puerto Rico. We also helped families who lost homes to floods, wildfires and storms, along with children living on the edge because of poverty, and seminarians preparing to devote their lives to sharing the Good News. These are just a few of the ways we minister to those in need; there are many more.”
Please help us continue to bring healing and hope to communities, families, children and Jesus’ disciples in 2023 by supporting this year’s America for Christ Offering.
New Sunday School Class/Bible Study
We have a new Sunday School class at 10:30, in person, that started the first week of Lent. The Study/Discussion is to look at God’s revelation of who He is through his various names. This 13 week study of the Old Testament names of God begins with the first name in which God makes Himself know, Elohim. The other names are studied in order as God progressively reveals Himself through His names. It will be a wonderful journey of learning who God really is. If you are interested, please email the church office @ office@centralbaptistpalmyra.org so we can get a count and also order you a book. Please specify if you would like and English Standard Version book or King James Version. There is no charge for the books.
