Call to Worship—

O LORD, God of Israel,
there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and steadfast love for your servants
who walk before you with all their heart.
Blessed be the LORD,
who has given rest to his people Israel
according to all that he promised;
not one word has failed of all his good promise,
which he spoke through his servant Moses.
The LORD our God be with us,
as he was with our ancestors;
may he not leave us or abandon us,
but incline our hearts to him,
to walk in all his ways,
and to keep his commandments,
his statutes, and his ordinances,
which he commanded our ancestors.

—1 Kings 8:23, 56-58, NRSV

Hymn of Invitation - #592 “Jesus Calls Us”

Verse 1

Jesus calls us o'er the tumult

Of our live's wild restless sea

Day by day His sweet voice soundeth

Saying Christian follow me

Chorus

His voice is calling words so very clear

Speaking oh so gently that we might hear

So we bow falling on our knees

Jesus intercedes

Verse 2

Jesus calls us from the worship

Of the vain world's golden store

From each idol that would keep us

Saying Christian love me more

Verse 3

In our joys and in our sorrows

Days of toil and hours of ease

Still He calls in cares and pleasures

Christian love me more than these

Verse 4

Jesus calls us by Thy mercies

Savior may we hear Thy call

Give our hearts to Thine obedience

Serve and love Thee best of all
