Call to Worship—Psalm 112:1-10

Opening Hymn - “Healing Rain”

Verse 1

Healing rain is coming down

It's coming nearer to this old town

Rich and poor the weak and strong

It's bringing mercy it won't be long

Chorus 1

Healing rain it comes with fire

So let it fall and take us higher

Healing rain I'm not afraid

To be washed in heaven's rain

Verse 2

Healing rain is coming down

It's coming closer to the lost and found

Tears of joy and tears of shame

Are washed forever in Jesus' name

Verse 3

Lift your heads let us return

To the mercy seat where time began

And in your eyes I see the pain

Come soak this dry heart with healing rain

Chorus 2

And only You the Son of man

Could take a leper and let him stand

So lift your hands they can be held

By someone greater the Great I Am

Ending

Healing rain is falling down

Healing rain is falling down

I'm not afraid I'm not afraid

Gospel Reading - Matthew 5:13-20

Hymn - #443 “O Zion, Haste”

Chorus

Publish glad tidings

Tidings of peace

Tidings of Jesus

Redemption and release

Verse 1

O Zion haste

Thy mission high fulfilling

To tell to all the world

That God is light

That He who made all nations

Is not willing

One soul should perish

Lost in shades of night

Verse 2

Proclaim to every people

Tongue and nation

That God in Whom they live

And move is love

Tell how He stooped

To save His lost creation

And died on earth

That man might live above

Verse 3

Give of thy sons

To bear the message glorious

Give of thy wealth

To speed them on their way

Pour out thy soul for them

In prayer victorious

And all thou spendest

Jesus will repay

Prayer of Thanksgiving

NT Reading - 1 Corinthians 2:1-12

Meditation

Hymn of Invitation - #568 “May the Mind of Chris, My Savior”

Verse 1

May the mind of Christ my Saviour

Live in me from day to day

By His love and power controlling

All I do and say

Verse 2

May the word of God enrich me

In my heart from hour to hour

So that all may see I triumph

Only through His power

Verse 3

May the peace of God my Father

rule my life in everything

That I may be calm to comfort

Sick and sorrowing

Verse 4

May the love of Jesus fill me

As the waters fill the sea

Him exalting self abasing

This is victory

Verse 5

May I run the race before me

Strong and brave to face the foe

Looking only unto Jesus

As I onward go

Verse 6

May His beauty rest upon me

As I seek the lost to win

And may they forget the channel

Seeing only Him
